A successful partnership between the zMAX CARS Tour and K1 RaceGear is set to continue and grow heading into a busy 2025 season.
Renewing their agreement as the official safety gear provider for the CARS Tour, K1 RaceGear is also launching several initiatives with the series throughout the year. Among these is a program set to launch in October that will see drivers and series officials honor Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
J.R. Twedt, who serves as the director of operations for K1 RaceGear, said the CARS Tour’s mission to promote short track racing on a national level perfectly aligns with the company’s values. A bolstered alliance between the CARS Tour and K1 RaceGear is something Twedt knows will benefit both companies and the short track industry.
“We are excited to announce our continued partnership with the CARS Tour,” Twedt said. “From day one, we have built our brand at the grassroots level. Our further alignment with the CARS Tour embodies our commitment to these racers at the pinnacle of grassroot pavement racing.”
Founded in 2003, K1 RaceGear has strived to provide high-quality racing equipment for drivers at a reasonable price. The list of products provided and sold at K1 RaceGear includes shoes, gloves, racing suits and helmets, among other items.
K1 RaceGear’s consumer-first philosophy enabled them to garner trust with several high-profile competitors in motorsports. Among the competitors who use a K1 RaceGear firesuit include 2021 NASCAR Cup Series champion Kyle Larson, defending NASCAR Xfinity Series champion Justin Allgaier and Cleetus McFarland.
The reliability of K1 RaceGear products and their support for short track competitors is why CARS Tour digital content and marketing manager Karsyn Elledge believes they are a great fit for the series. She looks forward to working closely with the staff at K1 RaceGear as the two companies enter the third year of their partnership.
“We are thrilled to welcome K1 RaceGear back to the CARS Tour this year,” Elledge said. “Their quality and attention to detail is one of many reasons why the series chooses K1. Not to mention, they make us look pretty good too. J.R., Devon, and Mackenna are always working with us to elevate our partnership and find new, creative avenues of branding with our official series apparel.”
Elledge is also excited about the Breast Cancer Awareness initiative being launched with K1 RaceGear. During the final two races of the year, drivers will wear a custom set of pink gloves from K1 RaceGear that will be signed and auctioned off at the end of the month, all while CARS Tour officials adorn pink, K1 RaceGear uniforms.
Aside from Breast Cancer Awareness Month, K1 RaceGear will present the CARS Late Model Stock Car Tour and Pro Late Model Tour champions with a custom jacket during the 2025 Awards Banquet. The two champions are also going to receive a fire suit from K1 RaceGear.
Twedt is proud of everything K1 RaceGear is doing to increase their involvement in short track racing through their partnership with the CARS Tour. He hopes to keep growing this relationship while simultaneously informing both drivers and fans of how imperative reliability is for K1 RaceGear’s brand.
“Outfitting these competitors drives our mission of truly being ‘The Racer’s Brand of Safety Gear and Apparel’,” Twedt said. “We are excited for the year to come and our continued growth alongside the CARS Tour.”
K1 RaceGear equipment will be prevalent throughout the infield when both divisions of the CARS Tour head to New River All American Speedway on March 1 for the 2025 season-opener. FloRacing will provide coverage of all the on-track action.
