The zMAX CARS Late Model Stock Car Tour stays in the Commonwealth of Virginia for the second consecutive race with a trip to Dominion Raceway, one of the newest paved short tracks in the United States.
Constructed in 2016 as a successor to Old Dominion Raceway, the current track offers plenty of modern amenities for fans to enjoy as they watch the on-track action. Dominion’s fast layout regularly tests competitors who participate in the facility’s weekly divisions along with those who venture there for touring events.
Since it first welcomed the CARS LMSC Tour, Dominion has often been one of the most unpredictable events on the series’ schedule. Plenty of Late Model Stock elites have visited the facility’s victory lane across the eight LMSC Tour events at the track, but none of them possess a second Dominion win on their respective resumes.
Dominion’s place on the 2025 calendar makes it a crucial race for LMSC Tour drivers in multiple regards. Finishing strong on Saturday is not only important for the championship but could also provide a jolt of momentum ahead of the prestigious Virginia Late Model Triple Crown that starts at South Boston Speedway on June 28.

Mini Tyrrell brings Mini’s Mission back to Dominion Raceway
For the third consecutive year, Mini Tyrrell’s charity Mini’s Mission will be an active part of the pre-race festivities at Dominion Raceway.
A 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, Mini’s Mission is designed to raise awareness and donations for those impacted by childhood cancer. Over $800,000 has been raised towards pediatric cancer through Mini’s Mission, which is why Tyrrell is grateful he gets to bring the charity back to his home race of Dominion once again.
“I’m so blessed to have the support that I have,” Tyrrell said. “A big thank you to the CARS Tour and the whole ownership group for allowing me to take that race over to do the great things that we do. I love seeing everyone on board, all the generosity and all the people that have donated to Mini’s Mission. The love and support is overwhelming.”
Tyrrell was inspired to start Mini’s Mission after his childhood friend Ella was diagnosed with a brain tumor at only seven years old. Overhearing the struggles Ella’s family endured to afford cancer treatments, Tyrrell approached his dad about fundraising through his go-kart program at the time, which led to the creation of Mini’s Mission.
For the upcoming race at Dominion, Tyrrell is hosting nearly three dozen families between the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, Children’s National Hospital and the Make-A-Wish Foundation. On Thursday, 10 of those families will head to Tyrrell’s house at Lake Anna for a relaxing day on the water.
Friday evening will consist of a dinner gala featuring guest speakers and Tyrrell explaining the fundamentals of Mini’s Mission. On race day, a church service will take place at 11 a.m. ET, which will be followed by each family getting paired up with a driver and taking a tour of the pits that will culminate with a pace lap around Dominion.
What Tyrrell appreciates the most about Mini’s Mission being at Dominion is how it brings everyone in the garage area together to support pediatric cancer awareness. Tyrrell is looking forward to seeing his fellow competitors interact with the children and provide them a fun, memorable experience.
“This stuff shows people’s true colors big time,” Tyrrell said. “I might not like somebody on the race track, but when this weekend rolls around, they’re the first person knocking down your door asking what they need to do [to help out]. It’s really cool how racing gets put to the side and everyone’s focus is on making kids and people feel good.”
Fresh off maiden CARS Tour win, Chase Burrow seeks to sustain momentum
Chase Burrow still finds himself in disbelief over becoming a CARS LMSC Tour winner at Langley Speedway a couple of weeks ago.
With Langley being his home track, Burrow could not have picked a better location to finally break through on the LMSC Tour in his 45th start. Now Burrow seeks to earn a second consecutive checkered flag Saturday at Dominion Raceway, something he knows is feasible with the overall speed of his No. 00 Medek Corporation Toyota.
“It was huge for me and all the guys,” Burrow said. “To do it at home was great too. We started off really good. Wherever we went, we had speed, but we just couldn’t put it together. We always had some bad luck, but [Langley] showed we could compete with these guys, which gave us some confidence.”
After spending his first two LMSC Tour seasons with Edwards Racing Enterprises, Burrow elected to move over to his own operation in 2024 with support from Sellers Racing Inc. Despite some growing pains, Burrow still amassed his best LMSC Tour campaign that year with four top fives in nine starts.
Dominion was the site of Burrow’s worst LMSC Tour finish last season, as his race came to an end after nine laps after getting collected in a crash. The early incident prevented Burrow from showcasing the efficiency the Sellers family is known for at Dominion, as Peyton Sellers is a four-time track champion there.
Unlike Langley, Burrow expects to go hard every lap at Dominion as opposed to conserving tires. Getting back to Cook Out Victory Lane on Saturday will require Burrow to employ a different mindset, but he wants nothing more than to earn another LMSC Tour win at the track where he turned some of his first laps in a Late Model Stock.
“We have to make sure we have a good car,” Burrow said. “It would be huge to win back-to-back. I’m glad the first one was at home, which is awesome for me, my family and the race team. To do it again at Dominion would be crazy for sure. If I do my job, everything should be OK.”
Daniel Silvestri returns to site of lone CARS Tour victory
The last time Daniel Silvestri ran a CARS LMSC Tour event at Dominion Raceway in 2021, he brought home a checkered flag.
Being able to celebrate that milestone with his friends and family is a moment Silvestri cherishes to this day. A lot has changed for Silvestri since then, but he is eager to finally participate in another LMSC Tour event at his home track of Dominion with the goal of obtaining his second career victory.
“That [2021 season] was my only full-time year with the [LMSC] Tour,” Silvestri said. “We had a lot of up and downs, but there was a lot of learning for me. [Dominion] was the only place I had a lot of experience and the moment we unloaded, we were kind of the best car. That’s still one of the biggest things I’ve ever done in my racing career.”
For Silvestri, possessing a home track advantage was crucial to besting the LMSC Tour regulars during a dominant victory that saw him lead 119 of 125 laps. Instead of acclimating to the track in practice, Silvestri immediately found his comfort zone and seamlessly adapted to Dominion as conditions changed from day to night.
Along with having logged so many laps at Dominion, teaming up with Logan Clark Racing and R&S Race Cars is another reason why Silvestri believes he can earn another LMSC Tour win on Saturday. Silvestri has known Clark since they raced Bandoleros at Southside Speedway and served as his spotter in the LMSC Tour back in 2023.
The opportunity to drive for Clark and R&S is one Silvestri is grateful for, as he has only run three LMSC Tour events since the 2021 season. Facing an even more competitive field than the one he defeated four years ago, Silvestri is ready to embrace the challenges ahead and deliver another stellar showing in front of the local Dominion crowd.
“It’d mean a ton to win [again] on this level,” Silvestri said. “Getting opportunities on this level is hard. [Winning] for Logan would be huge. I’ve spent a lot of time up in Dominion and I’ll be there in a Legends car this weekend. Defending the home turf would be very cool [along with winning in front of] the people who have supported me up there.”
