Five Star Bodies, Ford Performance offering incentives to teams with throwback schemes
There will be additional bonus money available to zMAX CARS Tour teams who are running tribute schemes as part of SoundGear Throwback 276 weekend at Hickory Motor Speedway.
Both Five Star Bodies and Ford Performance have set up their own, separate awards programs for eligible teams. While Ford Performance’s incentives are tailored specifically to Ford cars, Five Star Bodies will distribute money and other prizes to organizations who have the best appearing wraps.
Chris Weiss, a sales representative at Five Star Bodies, has always enjoyed the CARS Tour’s passion to honor motorsports history during Throwback 276 weekend. With so much participation in the USAR Pro Cup Series theme from 2023, Weiss is looking forward to seeing all the unique designs on Saturday evening.

In collaboration with FloRacing, Five Star Bodies is handing $500 and one complete Late Model Stock body to the team that has the best paint throwback paint scheme as voted on by fans on FloRacing.com.
Awards are also available to the Late Model Stock and Pro Late Model teams that finish second in FloRacing.com’s voting, as they will each receive a certificate of $250 to be utilized at Five Star Bodies.
With Ford Performance, any team that shows up with a tribute scheme automatically receives an undisclosed amount of money. Among the Ford teams expected to have a throwback wrap include Hudson Bulger, who has David Ragan’s No. 6 Discount Tire scheme adorned on his car.
Matthew Winter, the Global Off-Road Marketing Manager for Ford Performance, possesses a deep passion for grassroots racing and is thrilled to have the company be a part of the Throwback 276. He added the race is a perfect opportunity for fans to observe and recognize Ford’s impact across generations in United States motorsports.

Voting for the best appearing car at Hickory begins on Friday night following practice and concludes on Sunday night at 11:59 p.m. ET. Following the announcement of the highest-voted throwback scheme on Monday, the winner will receive their check during North Wilkesboro Speedway’s pre-race ceremonies the following week.
Live coverage of the Throwback 276 on FloRacing commences at 4:15 p.m. ET with qualifying. The first green flag of the evening is set to wave at 7:30 p.m. ET.
